On Sunday, 13 April 2014, in the afternoon at 13:15, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Naikupės street, a Ssang Yong Korando hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 82-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Ssang Yong (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
