On Thursday, 17 April 2014, in the afternoon at 11:56, in Tauragės district municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Birutės street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4, an Opel Vectra and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Audi A4, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
