On Sunday, 27 April 2014, at night at 1:45, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 151), a Volvo FH12 registered in Russia rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Russia) (12 years of driving experience), who was driving fatigued and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
