On Thursday, 5 June 2014, in the afternoon at 12:47, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 47), a Volvo FH12 registered in Russia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Belarus) (31 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
