On Thursday, 24 July 2014, at night at 4:25, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 25.05), a Renault Megane Scenic rolled over. One person was injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Renault (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Renault, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He refused a sobriety test and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
