On Monday, 28 July 2014, at night at 2:10, in Kaunas, on K. Baršausko street, at the junction with M. Riomerio street, a Mazda 323 hit an obstacle. One person was injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
