On Wednesday, 30 July 2014, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Panevėžio district municipality, Staniūnų village, on the Anykščiai–Troškūnai–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 53.64), a Peugeot 806 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Peugeot (23 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.85‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
