On Sunday, 27 February 2022, at night at around 2:00, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Anykščiai–Troškūnai–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 53), a quad bike rolled over. One person was injured — the 57-year-old driver of a quad bike (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of a quad bike, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He was drunk (1.81‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
