On Sunday, 3 August 2014, in the evening at 21:26, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 19), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525, a Volkswagen Passat, an Audi 80 and a Renault Clio. Two people were injured — a 7-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized) and a 1-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
