On Saturday, 20 September 2014, in the afternoon at 11:15, in Kaunas, on Gedimino street, at the junction with Griunvaldo street, a Honda Jazz hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 7-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Honda (8 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
