On Sunday, 5 October 2014, at night at 3:19, in Šiauliai, on Tilžės street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a Peugeot 306 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 19-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (1.41‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
