On Saturday, 23 December 2023, in the evening at 20:25, in Šiauliai, on Tilžės street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a Toyota Prius hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Toyota (3 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. He was drunk (2.57‰ blood alcohol).
