On Tuesday, 4 November 2014, in the evening at 22:40, in Šilalės district municipality, Bijotų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 211), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient) and the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf, who violated traffic rules on motorways. He was drunk (1.73‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
