On Wednesday, 5 November 2014, in the evening at 17:30, in Kretingos district municipality, on Žemaitės al., at the junction with Šventosios street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E280 CDI and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
