On Sunday, 6 July 2014, in the afternoon at 15:12, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 22), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Honda Accord, an Opel Astra and an Opel Vectra. Three people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Opel Astra (treated as an outpatient), a 26-year-old passenger of the Opel Astra (treated as an outpatient) and a 4-year-old passenger of the Opel Astra (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Honda (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
