On Thursday, 19 October 2017, in the morning at 8:49, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 21.50), a Volkswagen Golf Variant ran off the road. One person was injured — the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of an Audi 80 (16 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober.
