On Monday, 24 November 2014, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Lazūnų street near No. 27, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Murano and a Mercedes-Benz A170. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Nissan (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
