On Monday, 1 December 2014, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 57), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Actros and a Mercedes-Benz Unimog. Three people were injured — a 31-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog (hospitalized), a 27-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog (hospitalized) and the 26-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz Actros (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
