On Friday, 9 January 2015, in the morning at 5:10, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 28.50), a Smart registered in Germany rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Smart (a citizen of Germany) (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
