On Wednesday, 14 January 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Partizanų street, an Audi A6 Avant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 52-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Audi (24 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
