On Friday, 21 October 2016, in the evening at 22:50, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Partizanų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730 and a Toyota Prius. One person was injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
