On Saturday, 11 July 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Vilnius, on Salomėjos Nėries street, at the junction with P. Žadeikos street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz ML320 and an Opel Corsa. One person was injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (10 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
