On Monday, 6 July 2015, in the evening at 18:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 113), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus C-MAX, a Mazda 6, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla. Three people were injured — a 16-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient), a 6-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Ford (17 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
