On Sunday, 20 October 2019, in the evening at 20:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 111), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 308, a Mitsubishi Colt and an Opel Astra-G-CC. Two people were injured — the 46-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized) and a 25-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
