On Sunday, 30 August 2015, in the evening at 21:55, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 66.55), a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Citroen C8. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Audi, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.48‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
