On Friday, 23 August 2024, in the afternoon at 12:31, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 66.52), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Meriva and a Citroen C4. Two people were injured — the 70-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 62-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Opel (40 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk.
