On Saturday, 12 September 2015, in the evening at 17:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 11.26), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter and a Mercedes-Benz E280. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.95‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
