On Wednesday, 18 November 2015, at night at 0:52, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 62.22), in a roadworks zone, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania registered in Kazakhstan, a Mazda 323 and a Schmitz SPR 24. One person was injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Scania (9 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
