On Friday, 11 December 2015, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on J. Žemgulio street near No. 9, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Volkswagen Touran. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.17‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
