On Sunday, 13 December 2015, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 79.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Alfa Romeo 156 and a Volkswagen Sharan. Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
