On Sunday, 13 December 2015, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 79.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Alfa Romeo 156 and a Volkswagen Sharan. Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
