On Saturday, 16 November 2024, in the evening at 19:49, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 79), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Dodge (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.79‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
