On Sunday, 3 January 2016, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 100.50), a Volkswagen Caddy ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
