On Thursday, 26 August 2021, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kaunas, on Panerių street, at the junction with Islandijos pl., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Nissan Murano. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
