On Sunday, 10 January 2016, in the morning at 9:57, in Šilalės district municipality, Kuodaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 238.49), at a gas station, a Nissan Almera Tino hit an obstacle. Three people were injured — a 31-year-old passenger of the Nissan (hospitalized), a 32-year-old passenger of the Nissan (hospitalized) and a 43-year-old passenger of the Nissan (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Nissan (28 years of driving experience), who fell asleep at the wheel. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
