On Sunday, 24 January 2016, in the evening at 21:45, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 15), a Volkswagen Passat registered in Latvia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
