On Monday, 25 January 2016, in the morning at 10:06, in Šilutės district municipality, on M. Jankaus street, at the junction with V. Kudirkos street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Lexus LS 430, an Opel Frontera and a Peugeot 307. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Lexus, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
