On Wednesday, 3 February 2016, in the morning at 6:38, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 104.56), a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Belarus rolled over. Two people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the DAF (treated as an outpatient) and a 36-year-old passenger of the DAF (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the DAF (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
