On Friday, 5 February 2016, in the evening at 17:30, in Kaunas, on K. Baršausko street, at the junction with M. Riomerio street, a collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra, an Opel Signum and an Alfa Romeo 156. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Opel Vectra (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
