On Thursday, 17 March 2016, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 80A, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Yeti and a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Skoda (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
