On Wednesday, 20 April 2016, in the evening at around 21:00, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių pl., at the junction with Baltijos street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Primera and an Opel Omega. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Nissan, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
