On Sunday, 8 May 2016, in the morning at around 5:00, in Trakų district municipality, on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus national road (kilometre 22.50), a Honda Civic ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Honda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.63‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
