On Saturday, 28 October 2017, in the afternoon at 13:37, in Trakų district municipality, on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus national road (kilometre 23.01), a head-on collision occurred. Four people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized), a 17-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized), a 22-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 44-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Audi (19 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
