On Wednesday, 11 May 2016, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 26, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Mercedes-Benz E 220 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.68‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
