On Tuesday, 5 July 2016, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 91), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a vehicle and a Nissan Qashqai. One person was injured — the 63-year-old driver of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene.
