On Sunday, 10 July 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 1.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caravelle and an Opel Signum. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (17 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
