On Monday, 1 August 2016, at night at 0:25, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 3.80), a BMW 318 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
