On Monday, 1 August 2016, in the afternoon at 16:27, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 61.30), a BMW 528i hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the BMW (26 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
