On Saturday, 6 August 2016, in the evening at 19:12, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 51.40), a Mercedes-Benz C220 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
