On Wednesday, 10 August 2016, at night at 23:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) national road (kilometre 217.13), a Toyota RAV4 registered in Norway hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Toyota (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
