On Monday, 22 August 2016, in the evening at 21:20, in Marijampolės municipality, on V. Kudirkos street, at the junction with Jono Dailidės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Renault Master and a Toyota Previa. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Renault (17 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.96‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
